Youngest Son

By Barbara Ross Thursday, February 04, 2010

My youngest son, age 45, was diagnosed back in October 2009 with prostate cancer.  His PSA level was 8.  He was started on hormone treatments and then seed implants.  Today, February 4, 2010, he started bleeding again and went to the hospital.  After various examinations, was advised that his body rejected the seed implant.  What is the next step?  What is his prognosis?  Why would his body reject the implant?

Patients do not reject seed implants.  It is possible that the cancer did not respond to radiation therapy and what you are dealing with is a recurrence of the disease.
