Friendof Chic

By Chris Wednesday, July 16, 2008

My significant friend of 15 years was just diagnosed with prostate cancer.  He just turned 80 and has chosen to do nothing.  He simply says he will live until he dies.  I agree with his choice, as we have discussed this possibility through the years.  I am terrified, however, of the pain he will endure and would appreciate any advice you can offer.  Chic considered himself a Physical Culturist and has always practiced an excercise routine, takes many hers & vitamins and has taken away years of pain from a long ago auto accident that left him broken; through meditation.

I welcome your comments.

If he has the slow growing type he probably has little to worry about. That is what several doctors told me.I went to six doctors before I made my desition. I had the third kind and there was only one thing to do and that was cut it out and cut it out fast.I had my prostate cancer cut out ,and several years later my PSA is on the increase.I have asked the same question to many Doctors and have only gotten side step answers,as to what is the most likely future of dying with this disease, and the possble pain that will go with it.I think they have no idea since it can come back in different places, and I think no one has done a study on the percentages of where it will come back.So to not have any game plan to handle the future with this disease,I have ask two of my close friends that are doctors,to make sure my wife does not see me in any pain, which they have agreed to.That being done I say ENJOY TODAY WITH EACH OTHER ,Each day you are given here on earth is a blessing, and just thank how lucky you both are to have found each other.
