Urinary frequency at young age

Hi..I am 24 years old and have facing the problem of high urinary frequency for last 8-9 years.

I often have to make frequent trips to restroom and feel the need to empty the baldder after short durations (60-90 mins), though the quantity to pass is not always substantial.

Regular urine test was normal, only specific gravity of my urine was on higher side of scale.

In early morning hours, the need to empty bladder is very strong even though I am not done with my regular sleep.

During slight anxious times while awake till late night, the frequency is very high: alomost every 20-40 minutes.

Are there any natural remedies to curb this ? No infection was detected in general medical tests

My thirst factor is higher than others and I need to sip water at regular intervals or I get great discomfort in my bladder (as if it is non-empty but not full enough to pass urine). This is esp annoying during work hours when I have to sit for long hours. This often results in involuntary fiddling of my legs to comfort myself

gummyboy,

Have you been tested for diabetes?  Frequent urination and thirst are symptoms.  I would see your doctor ASAP.

I also have urinary frequency. I am 25 years old that this started approximately 1.5 years ago. I go to the bathroom also with short durations (60-90 minutes) and the quanitity is not always substantial either. When I am awake at night, if I am still up, I also go every 20-40 minutes. I don't know what this could be... I am confused

Please email me at peanuts.smith@gmail.com and let's discuss what this could be.

Thanks

I am 33 years old male and having the same problem for so many years. Last year when I got the checkup done, my doctor did a prostate check and prescribed some antibiotics and suggested it was prostatitis and was useful. I am havine more trouble started for last 15 days. The urine test was OK.

Hi Gummyboy,

I am assuming you are under a doctor's care. Has he/she indicated any reason for the frequency? At your age, there are very few conditions that would cause this. While online information is no replacement for a doctor's advice, I found some links for you to read that might help you ask all the right questions when you see your doctor.

First of all, even though you might know this already, it would be good to read the overview of prostate conditions. You can read that here.

There is a symptoms database where you can check your particular symptoms. It is possible you are experiencing symptoms that are normal. It's also possible you are overlooking some symptoms you should be checking out.

There is also a very thorough treatment database here that outlines various treatments available.

Finally, if your doctor does prescribe any medication, you can read about them here. You can find out if there are any side effects or drug interactions with other things.

I hope this helps. Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. You never know when someone else might be experiencing something similar and you and they could benefit from one another.

Take care!
