I will try not to be long. A few yrs. back I  passed a kidney stone, then another. Finally after trying to get medical ins. I got on MIA. Free ins. state of california, San Bernardino. Arrowhead regional hospital.

I told my primary doctor about my pains. He sent me for x rays, ultra sounds and many blood and urin test. I have never been given the results of any of these tests, yes I have asked many times.

The ultra sound was taken and I went to see a urologist. He said the three spots in my left kidney probably aren't stone. But I do  have a bladder stone. Okay fine what about the pain I have been having. Oh that could be an enlarged prostate. I will set you up for a cysto and blast away.

Well found out that the cysto is something they want to do here and if they don't I guess they stop treating you. Also found out that this cysto is just to take a look.

So after being on MIA a yr and a half. And having very bad pain for 15 to 20 days out of the month. Telling the urologist of this pain, calling the patients rights advocate and complaining like crazy. The cysto has to be done or they aren't going to do much else for me. What is so important about this cysto? My guess is the clinic gets paid for doing it. And to skip one might mean someone will take notice and say why didn't you do this???

Well, a week after that urologist said no stones, I am passing one, took five days to pass and then passed another one. Went to the ER and they took a ct scan. The ER doctor says you have an enlarged prostate. And gave me a prescription for cardura.

The urologist I was not able to go see again. They set up an apt. for that cysto so seeing a urologist now is out of the question.

Even the patienst rights advocate made me an apt. And they just said nope, you have an apt. for the cysto. I used the last apt. to talk with another urologist who pretty much said first we do the cysto. No x rays?? I told him my father died of prostate cancer. He wrote up a 3 page report, but when the advocate read it she never said she saw that there???

So I read so many stories about this enlarged prostate thing. Never do I read about it going away or being taken care of.

Some meds help some and some don't. I read about so many of us guys hurting for months and yrs. I read about this medication working for some and not for others. I read about vitimins. But its the same old story, helps some not all. I read about what doctors can do and say. But what it sure seems is that most of us don't get taken care of and we end up here or there looking for help.

When do we get taken seriously about this?

I sit in pain for hours days at a time, it feels like fire coming out. Comes and goes. I don't stay up at nite or get up to go. Seems my issues are all day related. About four months ago it started to get bad. Going on for days at a time. The doctors just keep wanting to do this cysto. So I am going to have to be put in this pain while they take there look. Oh wait, they said they use some numbing jell. Like that really works.
