Blood in ejaculate....

Recently I have been seeing small amounts of blood in my ejaculate, sometimes having small blood clots in there as well. Immediately afterwards I will have significant amounts of blood come out in my urine stream. This goes away after 1 or 2 trips to the bathroom and then my urine will be normal in color until I ejaculate again. I would think it has something to do with my prostate or testicles. Has anyone else ever experienced these symptoms???

Julio,

I have the exact same problem.  I'm scheduled to see a doctor in 2 weeks but am anxious about this situiation.  I don't see any other responses to your question.  Have you seen a doctor about this?   If so what was the diagnosis and treatment.  I'm losing sleep over this.  Let me know if you found out anything.  THANKS

Vince,

My girlfriend works in the OR at a local hospital and she asked a urologist friend of hers what we could do. He prescribed a very powerful antibiotic (the name of which escapes me at the moment) but after 10 days of taking these pills, and no sex, I was all healed up and am back to my normal self. I would never have thought that the bleeding was caused by an infection. Good to hear that you are going to see the doctor. To go to the bathroom without seeing red is a great thing! Good Luck!

I have noticed this same symptoms myself recently and it is just as you mentioned. My doctor said it is an infection and will go away with treatment. Well I took the medication refrained from having sex for that time period (14 days) and the  symptons came back as soon as I had sex again. Please tell me what you did.

I am going through this situation now. I first discovered this about a month ago when my girlfriend pointed out the color of my ejaculate. It was tinted with a rust appearing color. I did go to the doctor and was treated with an antibiotic, ten days worth. I was not discouraged having sex so I have continued to have sex at least twice a week. We thought the discoloring was just about gone when it somewhat reappeared last night. I started taking the antibiotic about three weeks ago, so I've had about a rather short reprieve. In ten days my girlfriend leaves town for two weeks and I will have a forced sebatical from sex. Does anyone think I should wait for her return to observe some sign of improvement, or do I need to get to the doctor immediately?

I'm very scared as after very intense sex for a week with my wife (after long absence) I suddenly had noticed blood in my semen. No blood during urination nor I don't have any discomfort...

I'm early 50's and don't have any medical insurance.

Any advice what to do would be highly appreciated...?

If this infection - what kind antibiotics would help...?

Hi, My boyfriend has the same problem and it's been going on sporadically since last August - almost one year. He is reluctant to see a doctor because of tests and scopes.  I am wondering how you are all doing, and if you have found any other reasons for this besides infection.  Julio, it's exactly as you describe it.  He did have a urinalysis the first time it happened, and they checked for cancer cells. There were none.  So, I am wondering if you have any new findings.

THanks so much!

This problem has happened to me three times.. I've been through all the test ava. and so far haven't been told what is causing the problem.  The first time I was 44yr. old then 53 and it just happened again at 61.   The last two times it took from three to four weeks for it to go away...  It's been with me about three weeks now and still there..   My Doctor says it will go away ......  He says you shouldn't refrain from sex.  Just use a condom...

About 5 years ago, I fell off the top of my truck. I was stunned and was probably out for a minute or so. Several weeks passed, and I noticed that when I played golf that my stomach would hurt and after ejaculation, I would also have similar pain in my stomach. My family doctor and I are at a loss as to what is causing my pain. I have been to 2 urologists and they claim not to find a problem. I have had at least 3 cat scans and a sonargram, but still the problem persists. My family doctor says that I will just have to live with it. I felt a muscle tear inside and the torn muscle has moved to my right side and it is visable (this all happened a month or two after I fell). I am 73 years old, but I sure would like to experience sex and golf as before my accident.

Some years ago I tore the muscle wall in my abdomen. Similar to what you describe with the bowel popping up sometimes, and some testicular discomfort sometimes. I think it's just affecting the tubes. My solution: get fit slowly, don't get constipated, sometimes helps to lie down and shove it all back down. Have been told it's a herniated gut wall, but saw a surgeon and had so little faith in him I have left it be!

Re the blood issue. Yes I have that at the moment, after a break from sex for a while. GP completely not worried, tells me it will wear off. Hoping it wears off, my plan is to have sex as often as possible, cos if it were a cow with an infected quarter I would be stripping it out as often as possible to try and clear the infection. :)

I'm 55 years old and have had the same thing you're describing going on for about 2 years. My doctor checked it out shortly after it forst started, I can't remember the name of the procedure, I called it a wennie cath. The diognosis was that the blood and clots in my urine/semen were being caused by prostate stones. He told me they can go in and scrape them out, but don't like to do it unless the prostate is infected ... plus it makes you sterile. My doctor said prostae stones are very common, unlike kidney stones are very smooth so no pain when they pass, and they are not fatal.

I have same problem.

When I ejaculate, the blood is coming out just as above person.

And right after urine has blood.

But after couple of urine flow it is not there anymore.

Meaning, the urine flow cleaned out the passage.

I checked again and again, and it happens only when ejaculation happens.

And the amount of blood is increasing.

I saw prostate specialist and he did not have answers.

Does anyone know about these symtoms and why it happen?

Please let me know.

Thank you very much.
