I have read somewhere that use of Androgel (testosterone supplement) could cause a faulty lab result when measuring kidney function, namely creatinine levels. My creatine level went from 1.4 to 1.7 within the last year subsequent to my beginning the daily HRT of 5gms of 1% testosterone gel. I am a 73 year old male taking atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide/lisonipril and Crestor. If this is true is the lab result just faulty or is the creatinine level actually higher?
