Dear Dr. Motola,  I have had an overactive bladder for several years but for the most part it's been manageable. I am 42. Normally, I feel the urge to void about every 90 minutes. But it has started to interfere with important activities, like taking an intense admissions test for graduate...
  1. High Urinary frequency at young age

Hi..I am 24 years old and have facing the problem of high urinary frequency for last 8-9 years.

I often have to make frequent trips to restroom and feel the need to empty the baldder after short durations (60-90 mins), though the quantity to pass is not always substantial.

Regular urine test was normal, only specific gravity of my urine was on higher side of scale.

In early morning hours, the need to empty bladder is very strong even though I am not done with my regular sleep.

During slight anxious times while awake till late night, the frequency is very high: alomost every 20-40 minutes.

Are there any natural remedies to curb this ? No infection was detected in general medical tests.

My thirst factor is higher than others and I need to sip water at regular intervals or I get great discomfort in my bladder (as if it is non-empty but not full enough to pass urine). This is esp annoying during work hours when I have to sit for long hours. This often results in involuntary fiddling of my legs to comfort myself

    Gummy,

I have a step-son who has something similar sounding to your condition.  His doctor told him that he has diabetes insipidous. It includes frequent urination, and thirst. I think maybe you should see a urologist about this, or even your primary care physician might be able to shed some light on this for you.

My step-son doesn't suffer any ill-effects, and as far as I know, it is not a serious condition, but again, get seen.

Good luck with this, and post your results here so we can all benefit.
