Dear Dr. Motola,

Is it ok to continue to try and conceive if I have a prostate infection and am taking Bactrim?

No adverse effects on fertility or reproductive perfomance have been linked with the use of Bactrim.

Avodart (dutasteride) is a drug that could have an adverse effect on a developing fetus, and women who are pregnant or trying to conceive should not come into contact with this drug. The clinical significance of this drug on a patient's fertility is not known.

Flomax has not been associated with any adverse fetal effects; however, if it does cause retrograde ejaculation, then problems with conception may occur.
