has anyone had "gut" pains/problems after taking Lupron?

George Via
07/01/08

My prostate cancer first appeared in 2000. It was treated by open beam radiation. PSA was for several years 0.0. In 2006, however, a coughing spell led to a chest X-ray and a spot was detected in my right lung. After amny tests and finally an operation on 6 June 2006 the middle section of my right lung was removed and the tumor was determined to be prostate cancer. My oncologist gave me a shot  of Eligard, which has been explained to me to be a Lupron type drug, in to my stomach muscle. I had three of  these shots at four month internval. Shortly thereafter I began to flee a bloating in my gut area (below the waist). This turned into a buring sensation similar to what one experiences with an over acid stomach. The pain/burning has caused me to overeat to try to satisfy/abate the burning sensation. I have put on over 20 pounds in the last two years. The shots were ceased in March 2007. I still have the pains across my lower abdomen especially when I am seated for a long period. After a good night's sleep in the prone position the pains hardly exiset the following morning. A long drive in a car or sitting reading for a prolonged period can be very painful. My oncologist says he has never heard for such a reaction from Lupron and that the pains will eventually go away. But two years after my operation I still have such pains. Several CAT scans of my gut have revealed no abnormality. Do anyone have a comment on what my be the problem>
