can Flomax be discontinued when Avodart is being prescribed also?

My dad is on both, because flomax helps with the urine production and avodart helps to shrink the prostate, which he needed both. The doctor did not one to stop flomax when he began avodart.

Thank you for your question. As mentioned above, the two medications work in slightly different ways, so they can be used together. However, it is also common to use only one or the other. Each patient is different, and your doctor should be the best one to know the optimum treatment for you.
