Q: What type of effect will it have if I take both Flowmax and avodart for my condition.

Thanks for your question. This is actually a very common combination of medications - many of the men on the site report that their doctor has prescribed them together.
Each medication works on a slightly different problem - Avodart shrinks the prostate, and Flomax relaxes the muscles around the prostate to allow urine to flow more easily. If your doctor has prescribed them together, it is likely because he believes that they will be more effective in tandem than if you just took one medication for enlarged prostate.
