Q: Can Drugs and Meds Raise Your PSA Levels?

I am 56 years old. My PSA was always around 2.4. I stopped taking Synthroid and started taking Cytomel instead for my underactive thyroid. I was on it six months and my PSA went to 5.4 and my Testosterone levels double to 654. My testosterone levels have been in the 300 range for ten years. I stop taking the Cytomel for a month and my PSA went down to 4.2 I am waiting until next month to go for another follow up test. Did the Cytomel raise both my PSA and Testosterone? I asked my doctor and even called the makers of the drug and they couldn't give me an answer.

There is no evidence that Cytomel is associated with causing an elevation of the PSA.
