Most patients only demonstrate short lived symptoms of pain after brachytherapy. The early symptoms include burning with urination which can be treated with various urinary anesthetics such as pyridium. Long term pain is uncommon and if it is, perhaps the use of drugs in the categories of anticholinergics may be of some benefit.
