Q: I have had some blood in my seminal fluids with slight paid in my testical and above pubic area

I have had some blood in my seminal fluids with slight paid in my testical and above pubic area; what does that signify?  I have had blood in my seminal fluids in the past but after a test where they put a camera down my penis nothing was found (probably due to use of a viberator which I don't use any more). My recent PSA was 1.77 and I am 63 years old.  My father died of prostate cancer at age 89, 7 years ago, and my 69 year old brother had prostate sugery about 8 months ago. No other family history in this area that I know of.  I have sex about once a week with my girlfriend but do masterbate about 4-5 times per week.

Blood in the semen is called hematospermia. It is usually a self-limited condition that tends to be benign, but in older patients, it may rarely be associated with malignancy. Most commonly it is associated with an inflammatory condition of the prostate (such as prostatitis) or the seminal vesicles. Blood clots in the urine however may be indicative of something not related to the ejaculation, but rather in the bladder and should be further evaluated. If the blood in the semen becomes persistent, further evaluation with a urologist would be advised.
