Q: My husband had Prostate cancer about 5 years ago. Treated with radition, the prostate is gone.

Or almost.  In May he had a psa just over 1.  Now in Oct. the psa was 58.93.  What does this mean.   He is 70 years old and till now in perfect health, still is except for this last psa.

This represents a treatment failure. A PSA of 58 is extremely elevated. Consideration should be given to the use of an LHRH agonist/antagonist to help control the disease. A bone scan should also be performed to determine if there is any metastatic disease to bone.
