Q: What is PET scan ? Would it diagnose the condition better than CT and MRI ? Which hosptial in bayarea has this scan facility and what are the cost approximately if i don't have insurance. thanks

My dad has prostate cancer spread to his lymph nodes. He is being treated with radiation therapy. He has done CT and MRI scans however the doctor suggested for PET scan.
