Q: How soon can one have sex safely after transurethral resection of the prostate?

The removed prostate showed no signs of neoplasia. Thank you

There is no absolute time which one should refrain from sexual activity after TURP.  I advise patients that they can resume sexual activity usually within 2-3 weeks, providing they are not experiencing blood in the urine nor any burning with urination.  Ejaculation most likely will not occur, but if it does, expect it to initally be bloody.
