Q: Shrink prostate or treat symptoms? Which medication is the most effective for the future?

My husband has just been prescribed the medication Terazosin for his prostate issue.  After learning that this medication is used to treat high blood pressure I am wondering if this is the best medication for him?  It appears this will treat his symptoms and not shrink the enlarged prostate gland.

Should an alternate medication be given that actually shrinks the prostate?  Will the prostate continue to enlarge?

What is the best method to treat this problem?

First of all I'm sorry to hear about your husband's prostate.  Have you tried Xango's Mangosteen juice (patented formula) which is liquid juice in a bottle and tastes very good.  www.pubmed.gov has many clinical studies on the Xanthones found in Mangosteen juice.  It is a strong anti-imflammatory, anti-tumoral, anti-viral and has whole lot more anti- properties.  Best to do your own due dilligence.  I invite you to see www.NeemaNene.MyManosteen.com for more information on this tropical fruit.  I have a friend who is currently going through prostate cancer and he just started drinking Xango's original Mangosteen's juice.
