Q: a 73-year-old man, newly diagnosed as Ca prostate. Given abnormal PSA level:8, a needle biopsy was done and Dx confirmed. MRI and bone scan result returned negative. what treatment does he need?

There is no absolute correct answer. Part of the decision making process involves knowing the overall health of the patient, what the Gleason score was on the biopsy, and what the rectal examination reveals. The good points are the fact that the MRI and bone scan were negative,indicating that this is localized cancer. Options for localized cancer in a 73 year old would include crytotherapy of the prostate, radiation therapy or high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU)
