Hi LDonegan, It is a common occurance for there to be blood in semen. According to the Harvard Health Publications, there are many causes for blood in semen, most of them not serious. You can read that article here. Dr. Jay Motola also wrote several articles about blood in the semen. You can read one of them here. Dr Motola does mention that there are concerns when other conditions are present. "A recent study has demonstrated an increased risk of prostate cancer in men with hematospermia. Obviously a rectal examination needs to be performed, and depending on your family history and age, a PSA determination."   There are also others who have experienced similar issues and have gotten advice from other users.
