I'm about 65, and could not pee during day or night. Used catheter for 9 months. It did empty my bladder completely. I had my TURP two months ago. I had a very good surgeon with 30 years experience. He told me TURP is still the Gold Standard for BPH. Yes. Recovery is longer. But the results will last alot longer.   Sex is still good. The retro-ejack issue... is not a big deal to me... depends on the type of sex as to how much of an issue. My stomach bulge has gone down. I now have a flat stomach. Bladder regaining normal size? Some "stress incontinence" has developed but I told it will go away with time and muscle exercise. It definitely relieved all severe symptoms (could not pee at all). Now I can join the fire department. If you know what I mean.I asked my surgeon about GreenLight Laser and said he does not do them because they fail to cure BPH and surgery has to be re-done.He said every few years a new treatment comes out, but proves not to as work well. I think I made the right decision.I would get a second opinion.Just remember no doctor will guarantee the outcome!
