I had a UTI recently after a cystoscope exam and was put on cipro and then levaquin. I went on Amazon and purchased a 100 strip container of 10 parameter urine reagent strips for $20. This let me know exactly when my urine showed signs of infection. It's easy to test your own urine. Just dip the strip in your urine collected in a paper cup and have the results in less than a minute. It's the same strip used by the urologist. That said, the burning urine was an accurate indicator of infection, but the strip confirmed it.
