I've suffered with frequent trips during the night, and an overpowering urge incontinence that did not respond to sequential use of doxepin (cheap) or Detrol (expensive) drug my urologist suggested I use in a therapeutic trials.   I tried 600mg Super Beta Prostate twice daily.  When it didn't work the first month, their sales representative said it took longer.  After about 6 weeks I began to feel a slower onset or the urge and I got up twice a night instead of four times.   Today on Dean Edell's radio show he reported in careful clinical trials that saw palmetto was useless.  Since Super Beta Prostate is concentrated saw palmetto I don't know what to think.  When I've discontinued the nutraceutical, the urge incontinence promptly returns.   My internist and cardiologist suggest continuing it's use as long as it's beneficial.
