Q: What needs to be followed in the post-radiation period (short and long term)?

I know that patients are followed after completion of radiation therapy.  I understand that the primary tool is the PSA.  How frequently is this done?  For how long a period of time?  Are there other exams that are used?  What else should I be thinking/worrying about?

I've got about 10 treatments left so I'm starting to think about this stuff.

Hi Phil,

These are good questions.  I'll ask Dr. Motola to provide his views on a typical course of action following radiation treatment.  We'll let you know when a response has been posted.
