Q: My father is a active and healthy 78 year old. He had prostate cancer 8 years ago, had prostate removed, rediation treatments. PSA counts have showed up about 2 years ago, now have raised to 21.

last test for PSA level was 3 months ago with only 3.4 now today test is 21. Doctor is asking for a bone test. Anything else we should ask for.

This clearly represetns a treatment failure. Given the extent of PSA elevation, it may be time to consider treatment with an LHRH agonist or antagonist. A bone scan should also be obtained.
