Q: My father is 79 and has an enlarged prostate. He currently takes three medications for it. Lately he

has been getting up numerous times in the night to urinate. He has been  to the urologist. What do you think?

Has he been taking the medications as they're directed? The number one reason why patients don't get better is because they don't take their medication correctly (or they don't take it at all). If he is taking all three medications, and taking them correctly, then the urologist is the best person to speak with. If he or you are not happy with the urologist that he's seeing, seek a second opinion.
