Hi Millie,
A PSA test alone does not necessarily indicate the presence of prostate cancer. If your dad's doctor thinks that this reading is cause for concern, they will most likely recommend a prostate biopsy, the procedure that can detect the cancer itself.
Please be aware that even if it is prostate cancer, many cancers are very slow growing and pose no problems at all. Other cancers do require treatment, but there are a variety of options and many men, especially if cancer is discovered early, make good recoveries.
