I can sympathize with you on your plight. I am 42 years old and just had the Green Light Laser Surgery 5 weeks ago. I fell into the 1% category of patients who had the most difficulties as a result. I only had my cath in for a day and a half and my wife and I took it out (that is a whole other story but i suggest the professionals for that). I have had more than normal pain, passing of clots, bleeding and horrendous bladder spasms! I saw my surgeon again last week and he informed me that while it's a rare situation it is not uncommon to have pain when you start and stop urinating. I also have extreme pain with ejaculation. My screams are definately not pleasure induced (sorry honey). The doc informed me that the pain could be there for 4 to 6 months after the surgery but will go away. He explained it's all part of the healing process and DO NOT PUSH to empty the bladder at the end. That "straining" can irritate the area and start bleeding again. My family doc prescribed vicodin for the pain and xanax for the spasms which HELPS tremendously! If you take it as needed it will definately help! Good luck to you my friend, I wish you well
