Q: I am considering the Green Light procedure. Is there a list of qualified urologists I can consult for my area--St Louis, Missouri ?

I am 68, just had a kidney stone removed (my second) the rotor rooter way, and feel like I am having more trouble urinating than before--especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night.I have had an enlarged prostate for a long time but have rarely needed to get up more than once a night. Tried Rapaflo right after surgery but stopped after 3 weeks. Didn't improve my daytime urgent need to go and I didn't like retrograde ejaculation. My urologist has mentioned in passing the possibility of laser surgery, but we haven't discussed it in detail yet and I am not sure how skilled he may be with the procedure.

A llist of doctors who perform the procedure can be found on the Amercican Medical Systems, the manufacturer of the GL,  website. If your symptoms suddenly worsened after undergoing a urologic procedure, the likelihood is that the symptoms should disipate in the near future. It would probably be best to manage your symptoms with medicaiton rather undergoing surgery.
