My tailbone is slightly red

The area around the tailbone is slightly red and looks like the skin is irritated. It is uncomfortable if i sit directly on my tailbone but no other pain otherwise.. this is not due to injury and have had it for as long as I can remember.

I was wondering what can be done to remove the redness and sensitivty from that area and well as what is causing it?

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, the only person who can really answer it is your doctor. Only he or she will be able to see and diagnose what exactly might be the cause of the pain. You may also want to give this symptom checker a try to get some background or ideas to talk to your doctor about.

You might find this story about tailbone pain from a Welsh newspaper helpful, or at least interesting. I hope this helps.
