My tailbone is slightly red

The area around the tailbone is slightly red and looks like the skin is irritated. It is uncomfortable if i sit directly on my tailbone but no other pain otherwise.. this is not due to injury and have had it for as long as I can remember. I was wondering what can be done to remove the redness...
