Q: my wife has had surgery to remove part of large colon,but is continually on the toilet after any drink or intake of food,is this normal post surgery?

This is not a normal post-operative occurrence. Frequency such as this could be due to several factors including urinary tract infection, pelvic floor irritability that can occur due to many post-operatvie factors or possibly as a result of nerve fibers that control the bladder that were affected by the colon surgery.
