Q: What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?

I am 19 years old and have discovered a strong history of prostate cancer in my family and i w as wondering what the syptoms of prostate cancer are?

At age 19 I can reassure you that you do not have prostate cancer.  Prostate cancer does not usually present with any symptoms unless it is very advanced disease.  With a strong family history, I recommend yearly screenings with a digital rectal examination and a PSA beginning at age 40.

Most of the time there are no symptoms. But with you being 19 i would not think

you would have prostate cancer. They usually start checking PSA levels at 40.

You might want to start checking yours in your 30#s, just for your peace of mind.
