Hello R Harding,

Avodart is prescribed to shrink enlarged prostate glands. Flomax is prescribed to also shrink enlarged prostates by relaxing the muscles around the bladder and prostate. Flomax is an alpha-blocker. I did not see anything that would indicate that these medications could not be taken together, but the best person to ask is your doctor.

Online sites are great resources for information to be able to ask all the right questions when it's time to see your doctor, but they can not take the place of your doctor's sound medical advice.

Take care and stay in touch! Let us know how you are doing!
