Q: Survival Rate 48 years old with cancer in the spine?

At 48 years old I had back pain and was diagnosed with spinal cord compression caused bad a tumor in the bone marrow of a vertebrae mid back.

After removal of the tumor it was determined that it was prostate cancer.

The symptoms of the spinal cord compression were immediately relieved by the operation.

The area of the surgery was treated with radiation.

I've been treated with Lupron and Bicalutamide that has reduced my PSA from 245.0 to 0.42.

Numerous tests including MRIs CRTs Bone Scans etc. revealed no other detectable tumors, with the exception of a tiny raised bump on the pelvic bone.

Can anyone give me an idea of how long someone in my condition survives?

I can't get any of my doctors to disclose even the broadest of estimates.

I'd really like to know, even if it isn't good news.

Thank You Everyone
