Can any one help with advise. My Dad (83) went thru prostate cancer last year . .he's good now (praise God) but its been over 15 months since his last lupron injection and he is STILL having hot flashes. He told me the other day he was on fire. They come regularly between 5 - 6:30 AM. He goes into sweats during the day brought on from trivial stuff . . . He's depressed, fatigued during the day, doesn't sleep well at night and is simply miserable. To top things off he's blind from macular degeneration. Please . . .any thoughts as my heart is breaking for him. A loving daughter

Thank you for your question. It sounds like your dad is having a rough time, but he's lucky to have you caring for him! If he hasn't had a Lupron injection in over 15 months, I am EXTREMELY hesitant to think that the Lupron could be causing his hot flashes. However, since they are so problematic and disruptive, I would strongly recommend talking to the doctor about his symptoms. Maybe there's something else going on that you didn't mention that could be causing the hot flashes and other symptoms.
