My partner had his prostrate removed 9 years ago - but is fearful of taking any hormones to revive any sexual feelings because he is afraid the cancer will re-occur-we have less and less intimacy because of his level being so low and he is showing all the signs of diminishing hormones-on top of that of course he has erection problems because they did not back then, watch what they cut so he barely has one - have tried the pump but that tends to be painful--I feel that if he get hormone replacement and keeps up with Dr visits any problems could be caught before they cause a problem-- Am I right ? I know there are not guarantees in life-- but intimacy is such a part of life that it is worth checking into to try this- but then you must have a doctor who is treating the whole person and not just the illness--(now of course the PSA test is not touted as being an accurate test and men panic and doctors remove without further testing as is what happened before)
What other tests tell if there is cancer looming and what are the risks of taking hormones?
thanks
