Consistent prostate problems.

Senna
08/11/09

My dad has been suffering from prostate problems for a long time. He has undergone 3 TURP operations in 2000, 2004 and 2006. Before the operation in 2006, his PSA level reached 37.36. Now, his PSA level is 2. He had an operation on hernia twice in 2001 and 2004. My questions are:

1. Can the enlargement of the prostate cause hernia inguinal? My dad was operated on hernia which was situated in the inferior of the abdomen.

2. With a PSA level of 8, can a patient have prostate cancer?

3. Can a patient, who first has BPH then later prostate cancer, be operated on TURP?

4. To operate on the prostate, does one need to be certain that the patient does not suffer from prostate cancer?

5. If a patient with voluminous prostate and an elevated PSA is not operated immediately, will he develop incontinence in the future?

6. How do you interpret this: The findings revealed an enlarged prostate of about 40 grms. Biopsy of resected tissue (60 grms) showed benign hypertrophy.

7. Which is the best method for doing a prostatic biopsy.
