Q: I have trouble starting to urinate and nightime urinations are very troubling. My psa is 2. Why?

I get up at least three to four times everynight especially toward the morning hours. It's kicking my ass. I went to the urologist and I wasn't in his office 5minutes and he said I should have a roto root. I know what that is because my Dad had that done and it ruined the rest of his life with bleeding off and on. I also know another man that had it done and it didn't do a thing for him. The two things that are most bothersome are the inability to start to urinate and the nocturia. I also know that I am not emptying all the way. There has to be some knid of solution so that I can get my life back to normal. Afraid to travel etc. My age is 66.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your question.  Did your doctor give you an official diagnosis?  And what did your doctor mean by roto-root?  A biopsy?

Your symptoms sound similar to those of enlarged prostate and there are a wide range of treatments available for that.
