Q: Is there a treatment regime to calm burning with BPH without using beta blockers? Side effects with Rapaflo are as bad as the condition.

Burning with urination, dysuria, is more commonly seen with infection, rather than BPH. You may have an underlying infection that is causing the dysuria. Beta blockers are not used for BPH, but alpha blockers are. Rapaflo is an alpha blocker. The most common undesirable side effect is the lack of ejaculation. Some of the older alpha blockers may not be associated with as high an incidence of the ejaculation problems.
