Q: I do not see blood in my urine, only in my semen. What could cause this. I am a 71 yr. old man.

I am a 71 yr. old man in good health(so my doctor says). Twice I have awoken to find blood on my underwear. Only once I saw a small amount of blood on the rim of the toilet after urinating. As my spouse and I no longer have sex I decided to find out where the blood was coming from. (embarassing but necessary) I decided to masturbate. Sure enough there was more blood than semen. My doctor says I have a slightly enlarged prostate, and keeps a close eye on my PSA levels. They are normal.

Could anyone give me a clue as to what is going on?

In advance, Thank you.
