In cases where a man has had a full prostatectomy and all of the cancer has been eliminated, the PSA reading should remain very low.

If the PSA rises after surgery, this may be an indication that the cancer has not been fully eliminated.  You can find out more in our article on Rising PSA after Surgery.

Hope this helps,

Dan
