The side effects that your husband is experiencing are all normal during radiation therapy.  I have found that the use of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Motrin, Advil helps to diminish the burning sensation.  It will not have any bearing on the blood in the urine and encourage large quantities of water during when being you are noticing it.  Topical agents for hemorrhoids for the rectum may prove useful for the rectal burning.  Disucss these symptoms with your radiation therapist.
