Q: Is lupron indicated for an 85 recently diagnosed person and what are the side effects

Thanks for the question. According to the FDA drug information, some common side effects include fever, chills, sore throat, difficulty sleeping, hot flashes/sweating and nausea or vomiting.

 

In regards to whether or not Lupron is recommended for an 85-year-old recently diagnosed person, that would depend on the person and thier doctor. A doctor is the only person who knows the person and the drugs well enough to make that assessment. But to answer your question about age, the majority of the patients tested for Lupron injection were 65 years of age or older, according to the drug's very technical professional information.
