Prostate Cancer Relapse Symptoms

Bone drug may prevent cancer relapse

In a recent study of 1,800 women with breast cancer, researchers found that those who took the bone-building drug Zometa were 35 percent less likely to suffer a relapse. Of the women in the study who took a combination of hormone therapy and Zometa, six percent of them relapsed within five years, compared to nine percent relapse in women who didn't take the bone drug. But experts say it's too soon to know whether Zometa will help increase patients' overall chance of survival. Read more »
