Black men have triple the risk of prostate cancer: study
A study of English men has found that black men are three times as likely to develop prostate cancer as their white peers. This study, which mirrors findings from an American study, also found that black men were diagnosed an average of five years earlier than white men. Researchers had previously theorized that black men may simply have been less likely to receive timely tests, which would mean their prostate cancer was more advanced when diagnosed. But this study suggests that is untrue, and now researchers say that indicates that race could be a risk factor for the disease.
