Longer hormone treatment may improve cancer outcome

Men with moderately advanced prostate cancer may benefit from longer hormone treatment, two new studies have found. British researchers say that men who continued taking hormone drugs for at least two years following their radiation treatment lived longer than men who took the drugs for less than two years. The U.S. study did not find a difference in survival time, but researchers did find that men who took hormones for several years were less likely to experience a cancer recurrence.
