Combination therapy best for aggressive prostate cancer

Researchers say that adding hormone therapy and radiation treatment may help men with aggressive prostate cancer live longer than brachytherapy alone. A study of 1,342 patients found that the men who had a combination of brachytherapy plus hormone treatment, radiation, or both were less likely to die, despite the fact that they were at greater risk of death to begin with. Researchers say there is a worldwide increase in the number of men who are choosing bracytherapy alone, but they say this study suggests that may not be best.
