Hormone therapy for prostate cancer raises heart risks

Men who receive hormone therapy for prostate cancer may be at greater risk for heart disease, but some types of therapy are safer than others, researchers say. A study of 30,642 Swedish men found men had a greater risk of heart attacks, arrhythmia, and heart disease. But researchers found that men who received anti-androgen therapy had significantly fewer problems, while patients on gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist therapy had the highest risks.  Read full story >
