Anemia drug may raise stroke risk in kidney, diabetes patients

The anemia drug Aranesp appears to double the risk of stroke in patients with kidney disease and diabetes, a study suggests. The study on 4,000 people, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, found that the risks involved for those taking Aranesp were more striking than researchers had previously thought while the benefits of the drug were less helpful than had previously been reported.
